Here, I chose to represent myself as a child, as one of the parts of the self we consist of. In this series of paintings, I was thinking about how dreams deal with our past, reworking past references into the present. The painting is inspired by a story someone once told me about their experience of motherhood. The mother described feeling as if she was about to fly off into space,
