and the pearls range from 6mm to 12mm diameter

These beads are very worn and some have chips and crack which is not all that uncommon (see photo)

Tamba is a word from the Ivory Coast for "waist beads" worn by women beneath their clothing. These multi stranded bunches are traditional and have been worn by several generations, restrung as needed.
